Terms of Service
Bohri Connect Version 1.0 · Effective 15 August 2026 · Last updated 15 August 2026
In short
These are the rules of the platform. The important ones:
- You must be 18 or older, and the profile must be your own.
- We do not guarantee you will find a match. Nobody honestly can.
- You keep ownership of your photos and everything you write. We never use your photographs in advertising, under any circumstances.
- Nobody here should ever ask you for money. If someone does, report them.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through Apple or Google, and only Apple or Google can cancel them — deleting your account does not.
- You can leave at any time, and your data goes with you. See the Privacy Policy.
Your privacy is covered separately, in the Privacy Policy. What is and is not acceptable behaviour is covered in the Community Guidelines. Both form part of this agreement.
1. Who we are, and what you are agreeing to
Bohri Connect is operated by iByte Apps Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 09504342, registered office Barton Seagrave, Northamptonshire, NN15, England ("we", "us", "our").
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and us. You accept them when you create an account. Together with the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy, they are the whole agreement between us about the platform.
If you do not accept them, do not use Bohri Connect.

2. Who may use Bohri Connect
You may use Bohri Connect only if all of these are true:
- You are 18 or older. If the law where you live sets a higher age of majority, that age applies to you instead.
- You are legally free to marry. If you are currently married, you must say so on your profile; misrepresenting marital status is treated as a serious breach.
- You are creating a profile for yourself, not for another person.
- You have not previously been removed from the platform.
- You are not barred from using a service of this kind under any law that applies to you.
One account per person. Creating a second account, or an account after removal, is a breach of these terms and we will remove it.
We verify age against identity documents. If we believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it and delete the data. We do not knowingly hold information about children.
2.1 Profiles are for the person themselves
Bohri Connect is a platform where the member speaks for themselves. Family involvement in a marriage search is normal and expected in this community, and nothing here discourages it — but the account, the messages and the decisions must be the member's own.
Nobody may create, hold, or operate an account on another adult's behalf. That includes parents, siblings, and anyone acting as an agent or intermediary. An account operated by someone other than the person it describes will be removed.
3. Your account
Keep your access to yourself. Your account is reached through your own email address — and through your phone number, if you have verified one. Do not let anybody else sign in to it, and tell us promptly if you think someone has.
Keep your profile accurate. Your age, marital status, whether you have children, where you live and what you are looking for must be true and kept up to date. Section 1 of the Community Guidelines sets out why this one matters more than the others: misrepresenting these is the most common source of serious complaints we receive.
Verification is not an endorsement. A verification badge means we have checked a photograph against a document, and that the person in the photographs is the person who took them. It does not mean we have investigated anyone's character, background, finances, marital history, or intentions. We do not run background checks. See section 15.
3.1 Re-verification
Verification does not last forever. We may ask you to complete a new check periodically, and we will ask again if the main photograph on your profile changes. If you do not complete it, your profile stops being shown to other members until you do. We will tell you in the app before that happens.
4. The pledge, and the Community Guidelines
Before your profile goes live you accept a short pledge. The Community Guidelines are the full version of what that pledge means, and they form part of these terms.
Read them. In summary, and without limiting them, you must not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, deceive or impersonate anyone
- Persist after someone has declined you, or approach their family to apply pressure
- Send sexual content, or ask for it
- Ask any member for money, gifts, bank or card details, or cryptocurrency — in any form, for any reason
- Screenshot, photograph, save or forward another member's profile, photos or messages to anyone outside the app
- Post another person's contact details, or your own in your public profile
- Scrape the platform, script it, automate it, or run more than one account
⚠ The screenshot rule is one of the few we may act on immediately, without a warning. In a community this size a circulated screenshot can reach somebody's family within hours, and the harm falls most often on women. Section 2 of the Guidelines explains it in full.
5. Your content, and what you allow us to do with it
You own what you upload. Your photographs, your written answers and everything else you put on your profile remain yours. We do not acquire ownership of any of it.
To run the service, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, reformat and display your content for the purpose of operating Bohri Connect and showing your profile to other members, in accordance with the privacy settings you choose. That licence exists so the app can function — nothing more.
⚠ This licence does not permit advertising, and it never will.
- We do not use your photographs in any advertisement, promotion, or marketing material. Not on the App Store listing, not on social media, not in a press article, not in a screenshot of the app. Ever, under any circumstances, whether or not you are recognisable.
- We do not sell, license or transfer your content to anyone else.
- We do not use your content to train any general-purpose AI model, and neither does our AI provider. See section 8 and the Privacy Policy.
The licence ends when the content does. Delete a photograph and the licence over it ends; delete your account and it ends over everything, subject only to the short, listed retention exceptions in the Privacy Policy.
Success stories are a separate, explicit permission. If you leave because you have married, we ask two separate questions with the boxes unticked. Neither is part of this licence and neither happens unless you tick it. Publishing your story additionally requires you to approve the exact wording first.
6. What we may remove
We may remove content, or refuse to publish it, where it breaches the Community Guidelines. Photos and written introductions are reviewed before they go live, so there will normally be a short delay before a change appears to other members.
We will tell you when something is rejected and give the reason.
⚠ A rejection is about the content, not about you. Most are ordinary — a group photo, a phone number in a bio — and carry no consequence beyond the change not being published.
7. Subscriptions and payment
Bohri Connect is free to use. Premium and Premium Plus are optional paid subscriptions that widen what you can do — including seeing members outside your own region, seeing who has viewed your profile, sending more expressions of interest, and re-opening conversations you have closed.
7.1 How you pay
All payment is handled by Apple or Google. We do not take card details and we never see them. Your subscription is bought through the App Store or Google Play under their terms as well as ours.
The price shown in the app at the time you subscribe is the price you pay, in your own currency. Prices differ between countries.
7.2 Automatic renewal
⚠ Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Apple and Google will tell you before each renewal in accordance with their own rules.
7.3 Cancelling
You cancel through Apple or Google, not through us. We have no ability to cancel a subscription on your behalf — the platforms do not permit it.
⚠ Deleting your Bohri Connect account does not cancel your subscription. This surprises people and costs them money, so the app says it again on the deletion screen. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings first, then delete.
When you cancel, you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
7.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies, not by us. We cannot issue, refuse or influence a refund; if you want one, ask the store you bought through.
Where the law where you live gives you a right to cancel or a right to a refund — for example statutory cooling-off rights — that right applies and nothing here limits it.
7.5 What a subscription does not buy
A subscription buys access to features. It does not buy:
- Any number of matches, replies, or introductions
- Priority in another member's daily set at the expense of somebody else
- Any commitment about how many members are on the platform, or in your region or age band
7.6 If we suspend your account
If we suspend your account for seven days under section 12, your subscription is paused and you are not charged for the suspended period. It resumes when the suspension ends. If we remove your account permanently, your subscription ends and you should cancel it with Apple or Google.
7.7 If we change what a tier includes
We may change what each tier includes. If a change materially reduces what you are already paying for, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel. We will not reduce what you have already paid for during a period you have paid for.
8. AI features
Some parts of Bohri Connect use artificial intelligence. Two of them, specifically:
Writing help. If you ask for it, an AI assistant interviews you about yourself and drafts your profile answers in your own words, based on your answers. You see the draft, you edit it, and nothing is saved until you choose to save it.
⚠ What you publish is yours, and you are responsible for it. The assistant helps you write; it does not write instead of you. If a draft says something that is not true of you, do not publish it. Publishing an inaccurate profile is a breach of section 3 whether or not a machine helped produce it.
Compatibility notes. When you and another member match, we may generate a short note on what you appear to have in common and some suggested things to talk about.
⚠ This is a conversation aid and nothing more.
- It is not a compatibility score, and we deliberately do not produce one. A number implies a scientific validity that does not exist, and people make real decisions on numbers.
- It is generated from the structured answers you both gave — not from your conversations, which we do not read for this or any other purpose of this kind.
- It can be wrong. Do not treat it as advice about whether to marry someone.
What is sent, and what is not. A limited set of structured profile fields is sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI). Your name, photographs, contact details, identity documents, location and your conversations are never sent. Our provider is contractually barred from retaining that data or training on it. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly which fields leave the platform.
9. Conversations
Conversations are private between the two of you. We do not read them routinely and no employee browses them.
Automated checks run on messages as they are sent, looking for a narrow set of safety signals — principally contact details shared very early in a conversation, which is the strongest indicator of a scam we have. A message may occasionally be blocked. If it is, you are told, and you are told why.
⚠ We do not publish the exact thresholds, because publishing them teaches the people the checks exist to catch exactly where to write around them.
9.1 Ending, and re-opening
Either of you can end a conversation at any time. When one of you does, it ends for both — you will not be told which of you it was, and neither will they.
A closed conversation can be re-opened only if both of you agree. One asks, the other accepts. If they decline, or do nothing, the conversation stays closed and they are not told again.
How many conversations you may ask to re-open depends on your subscription — none on the free tier, one on Premium and three on Premium Plus, in any rolling 30 days.
⚠ Re-opening starts a fresh thread. It does not bring back the old messages. That is deliberate: somebody who ended a conversation and later agreed to start again has agreed to start again, not to have what they said before produced back at them.
9.2 How long we keep conversations
Closed conversations are deleted on a schedule. Conversations that were reported, or that relate to an unresolved report or a legal obligation, are kept longer — the Privacy Policy sets out the periods.
10. Agents
Some members join through an agent — somebody known to us personally who introduces members to the platform and helps them get started.
⚠ An agent has no access to your account, your profile, your photographs or your messages, and no control over them. They cannot see who you have expressed interest in, cannot see your matches, and cannot see your name in anything we show them. They see counts.
An agent is not our employee and does not speak for us. Nothing an agent tells you changes these terms. If an agent asks you for money beyond any fee you have agreed with them directly, or offers to manage your profile for you, tell us.
11. Reporting
Every profile and every conversation has a report option.
Reporting is confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them. Blocking somebody also ends any conversation between you.
⚠ A block applies to that person's account. If they leave and sign up again with a new account, you may need to block them once more — and creating a new account to reach somebody who has blocked you is itself a breach of these terms, which we act on.
Report anything that worries you — you do not need to be certain. Report immediately if anyone asks you for money, sends sexual content, threatens you, or shares another member's photographs.
⚠ Do not report someone because you were not interested in them, or because they declined you. Deliberately false reports are themselves a breach of these terms.
12. What happens when these terms are broken
Reports are reviewed by a named moderator. A moderator who knows the member personally must pass the report to someone else. Every decision is recorded.
| Step | What it means |
|---|---|
| Warning | We tell you what happened and when. The person who reported you stays anonymous |
| Suspension | Seven days. Your conversations are kept, your subscription is paused, and your account restores itself automatically |
| Removal | Permanent. Your right to export and delete your data survives for 30 days |
We do not always start at the first step. Some things — sexualising a child, threats of violence, circulating another member's photographs, coercion into marriage, soliciting money by deception — result in immediate permanent removal and, where a child or a person's safety is involved, a report to law enforcement.
A suspended member opening the app is shown the suspension and its reason. You will not simply find things silently failing.
13. Appeals
You may appeal a warning, a suspension or a removal.
- Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator from the one who made the decision.
- We aim to decide within three working days.
- If your appeal succeeds, suspended time is credited back to you and any subscription time lost is restored.
- You may appeal a decision once.
14. Ending your account
You may leave at any time, from Settings in the app or from https://bohriconnect.com/delete —
which works without installing the app or signing in to it.
You will be asked why, offered a pause instead if a pause is what you actually want, shown exactly what is deleted and what is kept, and asked to confirm with a code sent to your phone.
⚠ Cancel your subscription with Apple or Google first. See section 7.3.
We may end or suspend your account where you have breached these terms or the Community Guidelines, where we are required to by law, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect another member. Except where doing so would be unlawful or unsafe, we will tell you why and you may appeal.
If we discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice, stop taking payment, and give you time to export your data.
15. What we do not promise
This section matters more than its length suggests. Please read it.
⚠ We do not guarantee you will find a match, a conversation, or a marriage. No platform honestly can, and any that implies otherwise is selling you something. What we provide is a place to look, some tools to look with, and rules that make looking safer.
⚠ We do not vet members beyond what we say we do. We check that a person is who their photographs show, and that they are over 18. We do not verify:
- Marital status, or whether someone is free to marry
- Employment, income, education, or qualifications
- Family circumstances
- Criminal history, of any kind, anywhere
- Whether anything else on a profile is true
Verification means the photographs are of the person sending them. It means nothing else.
⚠ You are meeting strangers. The ordinary precautions apply and they apply here:
- Meet in a public place, the first several times
- Tell somebody where you are going and who you are meeting
- Arrange your own transport
- Never send money, however convincing the reason. Nobody on this platform has a legitimate reason to ask you for it
- Take your time. Pressure to move fast — off the app, to another messaging service, to a decision — is the most reliable warning sign there is
We are not a party to anything that happens between members, on the platform or away from it, and we do not supervise it.
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We will try, and there will be outages.
16. Liability
Our position:
- We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. These carve-outs come first because they are the ones that matter.
- We are not liable for the conduct of other members, on the platform or away from it.
- We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses — this is a consumer service.
- Where liability can be limited, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for most members is nothing and for the rest is the price of a subscription.
- Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do:
- We will post the updated version with a new date at the top
- For a change that materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and give you 30 days notice
- Your continued use after that means you accept the change. If you do not accept it, you may delete your account. Any refund for a period you have paid for and will not use is handled by the store you bought through — Apple or Google — because that is who took the payment. We cannot issue it ourselves, and we will not pretend otherwise
The app records which version of these terms you accepted, and when.
18. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, except where the law where you live gives you a right to bring proceedings locally, in which case that right applies.
- Indian members may raise a complaint with our grievance officer at
Shabbir Khilawala at
shabbir@bohriconnect.com, and retain every right of redress under Indian consumer law, including the consumer commissions.
Before either of us goes to court, please write to us. Most complaints are resolved in a few
days: support@bohriconnect.com.
19. Some odds and ends
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anybody else. We may transfer ours if the business is sold, and we will tell you if that happens.
These terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Bohri Connect.
Nothing in these terms gives anyone other than you and us the right to enforce them.
